IV action alert $50 per month recurring contribution drive.
Dear IV members,
IV has had its first big success this year and we should all be proud of what we can all do. We worked hard and left no stone unturned to get this relief for our members. During the last few days there has been some movement on the National Defense Authorization Act and work on DREAM and SKIL provisions. While we were fully focused on the 485 relief, we did not lose sight of the developments. We have built a positive momentum and have been getting positive signals from key lawmakers. It is now upto us how we can seize the opportunity and focus on the lobbying efforts on legislative front. After seeing the overwhelming support of our members we are also encouraged to move ahead with full steam and explore the possibility of our provisions in the upcoming legislative activities. We also need to explore any other future movement on legislative front. Please join us in this struggle by signing up for $50 or more per month recurring contributions. This minimum amount is important for us to accomplish the kind of results we all desire. The failure of CIR and the political climate against immigration are making the task difficult but not impossible.
Monthly $50 sign ups will enable us to have a better idea on the funds for the coming months and we can plan our efforts better.

Thanks again for your continued support.
IV team
P.S. After our success with the visa bulletin, our opponents, other organizations and people in DC know that IV has arrived. Congrats everyone.

Yes this is not a typo. This is true. Aman has made more financial sacrifices and time sacrifices than anyone else. Not a single penny has been reimbursed to him for his trips to DC, food and stay in DC or car rental in DC. He even risked his job and went to DC on unpaid leave at critical times because lobbying was important for getting our work done. We in the core team know this and when we see the kind of contributions we get from members, we feel disappointed that our efforts are not valued. When we started the $20 contributions people felt $20 was too high and wanted $10 per month or less. The kind of work and effort that is needed to push a single provision is phenomenal and needs lot of capital. The more the better. Sometimes reading posts that say IV core is selfish also disappoints us. People do not know the effort that goes in getting anything done. This website is simply a tool for us to communicate to everyone. The big effort is the lobbying work. We hope the Buisnessweek article helps people realize our hard work and people value it by contributing to it and helping us in all action items.

This is good news all around. It gives EB2 I an obvious benefit. However EB3 can take consolation in knowing that all EB2 is closer to C, and then spillover can start. Obviously EB3 ROW will get the spillover first, but then it will be EB3I. A visa recapture would be so great now.
Now perhaps RD matters if you are EB2 I.
This is just a hunch, however I think you will see a rash of EB2 India approval in the coming couple of months. I have seen a lot of LUDs and RFEs and the like on EB2I cased over the past month or two, and a lot of this seems as if they were pre-adjudicating, while in discussions to move the dates with the state dept.
A few lucky people from the July filers will get their green cards from this, but most may have to wait a while. They have not processed many of them.

Hi ind_game,
For me, 1. I-140 approval in September, 2007 (actually 09/04/2009 as I have the hard copy) has typo. I think your 09/04/2009 should be 2007.
Please correct.
I have corrected my previous post. thanks ak_2006

I think u r right. We shouldn't think abt our future in this country and nor abt the people who were in backlog as we r the one's who suffered the most.Y we have to suffer because of mis-communication between DOS n USCIS.If they will be taking our reaction in negative way let them. If they want to revive CIR(Legal immigration-point system) , let them do. If they do, the same as British did , let them. Let see our present, don't worry about future. If they think to throw us back to our home country ,the right they have , let them do. But i just want to say is that- if they made an inquiry over this issue, not only they'll hold all backlog cases that r approved now but also they will stop issuing new visa numbers till this is resolved-result -delaying the process more. It will definetely take time. The thing is atleast backlog is cleared now, so the process will move smoothly. But anyway lets fight for injustice done to us.Lets don't wait for oct opening. We want now!!!
For last 2 weeks of June , we worked hard and delivered our application on 2nd july. Lets Do IT GUYS!!!!!:)

My brothers in blood, please calm down Mahatma Gandhi had his own way of fighting for freedom and so did Subhash Chandra Bose. They must have agreed and disagreed with each other on many things. But at the end of day, their motive was the same Justice and Freedom.
We might have our differences, our opinions and ways of doing things, but we need to understand that our motive is the same. We should stop bickering with each other and concentrate on the main goal. We should keep encouraging our members to join hands and unite and fight for the cause.
Though you might not agree with each other, you still need to see how severely the issue must have affected the other person which is why they are here and ready to fight.
Please pull your swords to fight the injustice rather than fight with each other.
PEACE!

I sent an email to Lindsey Graham.
I received the following reply from him.
Thank you for taking the time to contact me. I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you.
Due to the large volume of mail I receive, I regret that I am only able to respond personally to inquiries from South Carolinians.
As we continue our work in the 111th Congress, I look forward to supporting our troops in the War on Terror, repairing our economy and creating jobs, strengthening Social Security, lowering the tax burden on American families, and making the federal government more accountable and efficient.
If your correspondence pertains to a scheduling request, please fax your request to (202) 224-3808.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Graham

On September 18th thousands of LEGAL TAX PAYING immigrants will unite to bring attention to the plight of waiting years in line with no end in sight.
No flags, no anger, no fodder for Lou Dobbs; this will be the most peaceful march that Washington has ever seen, inspired by the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi.
This rally will not be country specific; People affected by this bureaucratic nightmare come in all shapes, colors and nationalities.
This is a time for all LEGAL immigrants to renew their tryst with destiny. The unworkable Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill that would have added decades to the wait time of LEGAL immigrants is now dead. Piecemeal approach bills are being introduced both in the house and the senate. It is time to stand and make our case - We are professionals, we are highly skilled and we deserve a fair immigration process.
So now fellow immigrant, the choice is yours. Whether you adjusted your status 5 years back or yesterday, you know the nightmare you went through. Others who filed their Adjustment of Status in the avalanche of July 2nd can be expected to remain buried in paper for the foreseeable future. The only way the lawmakers in Washington will hear
our voice is if we stand up and present our case to them. We will put a face to the concept of a legal immigrant and not remain a faceless nameless statistic that lawmakers are used to.
Immigration voice has launched the most comprehensive campaign ever to get you there. We will provide buses if you don’t want to drive, air tickets if you will fly and accommodation when you get to Washington DC on September 18th.
All you need to do is log on to http://immigrationvoice.org, register your details and state how you can be there in Washington DC.
Our case is not complicated, all that is required is tweaking of numbers so that the antiquated immigration policies can be adjusted to the realities and requirements of the 21st Century.
Thousands of people will march from the Washington Monument to the Capitol building on September 18 at 11 AM.
Join them and be a part of history.

I am guessing that your EAD was driven by the address which you provided while applying for it. CIS may not confirm what's on file, when there is already an address mentioned in application itself.
This could very well be true. My first biometric appointment notice was mailed to me when I was changing residence, and it probably went to the old address, I remember not receiving it and my old attorney's office sending me their copy of it. I had done the AR-15 update right around the same time, but I guess it didn't go through. Anyway, since I spoke directly with someone in Nebraska this time around, I am hoping they now have the right address on file.

guys i think USCIS is not interested in giving EB 3 guys GC...
as mostly EB 3 guys r ppl with Bachelors (and less than 5 yrs exp) or who are stuck with EB3 due to there company (like me)...
EB 2 guys r mostly with ppl having masters degree from US...so i guess they will definetly get more preference than eb3...
I guess US wants to raise there economy by giving GCs...so that ppl more ppl will buy houses....
I hope something happens for EB3 also...but I guess in Oct bulletin PD for EB3 will b some month in 2001....
so gud luck to all of us

According to the State Department, from October 1, 2006 through May 30, 2007, the USCIS requested and was authorized the total EB visa numbers of 66,426. Between June 1 and the first few days of July (?), the USCIS requested and was authorized over 60,000 EB visa numbers, in approximately one month. Since it has been made clear by the USCIS that during the last weekend of June (2 days) the USCIS approved 25,000 EB 485 applications, apparently over 40,000 visa numbers were requested and authorized before the weekend. Obviously the 60,000 plus cases must thus have been approved (?) in one month
